Faisal Rana ton leads Botswana to victory against Norway - ICC World Cricket League Division Seven
The hosts Botswana thrashed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Norway-c2974 by eight wickets in the ICC World Cricket League Division Seven. Faisal Rana smashed an unbeaten 158 runs and Akrum Chand remained not out at 84 runs.
The pool match was played at Lobatse Cricket Ground on 5th May, 2011. Norway won the toss and elected to bat on a perfect batting wicket but the decision bounced back, as they lost their first wicket for just two runs.
The other opener and Captain of the side, Damien Shortis, was joined by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adeel-Ibrar-c41975 and both took the score to 79 runs when Adeel was gone after scoring 33 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ehetsham-ul-Haq-c55785 came to the crease and consolidated the innings with Shortis with attractive cricket. The pair contributed 101 runs for the third wicket before Ehetsham went back at his individual score of 38 runs.
Shortis played a brilliant inning of 91 runs and was unluckily run out at 91 runs off 129 balls with the help of nine fours. He was the fifth batsman to go back to the pavilion at the total of 197 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 Ahmed and Iftikhar Suhael added 30 runs for the seventh wicket and Norway managed 272 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Shahid remained unbeaten on 30 runs.

Botswana opened their innings with Faisal Rana and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Noor-Ahmed-c79856 and they lost Noor at 28 runs when Denzil Sequeira joined in. Sequeira also departed at his individual score of 14 runs after the addition of 38 runs in the total. The second wicket fell at the
total of 66 runs in 11.2 overs, which was brisk going at that time.
Akrum was the next batsman, who came in to bat next with Faisal and both of them came out with excellent performance. They played attacking cricket and scored at their will while six Norwegian bowlers did their best to dislodge the partnership.
Faisal was more aggressive and completed his century in the process, while Akrum achieved a well deserved fifty. Both of them saw Botswana through to the victory by scoring 277 runs in 46.4 overs.
They shared an unbroken partnership of 211 runs for the second wicket, which is a record in the tournament so far. Faisal remained unbeaten on 158 runs off 143 balls with the help of three huge sixes and 21 well placed fours. Akrum was also unbeaten on 84
runs made of 100 balls aided with one six and eight fours.
Mofassar Saeed and Babar Shahzad were the only successful bowlers from Norway with a wicket each.
Botswana won the match majestically by eight wickets.
