Faisalabad, Karachi, Multan, Sialkot win matches in PHF Junior Super Hockey League
The hockey squads of Faisalabad, Karachi, Multan and Sialkot won their respective matches on the 6th day of the PHF Junior Super Hockey League played at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore, Pakistan.
In the opening match of the day, Sialkot powered a commanding 8-4 victory over Peshawar and moved forward in the next round. Sialkot though faced stiff defence from Peshawar, but they managed the victory with a convincing margin.
The players from Sialkot started the game quite impressively and scored four goals in the first half of play while holding Peshawar goal-less. The players from Peshawar cranked up their offence in the second half, but failed to reduce the widely spread difference.
Mohammad Sabir displayed impressive game and scored three goals respectively, in the 12tt, 14th and 61st minutes. Kamran Asif and Mohammad Umair scored one goal apiece in the 20th and 49th minutes of
the play to take the game into their favour. In the later time, Mohammad Suleman and Shaheryar scored two and one goal respectively, to take an insurmountable lead in the match. They scored the points respectively in the 49th, 60th and
69th minutes, respectively.
From the other side, Samiullah Sadiq scored first goal for the team in the 42nd minute of the game while his team-mate, Karim Khan, added two goals respectively, in the 44th and 69th minutes of the game. The final offence
from Peshawar was carried out from Mohammad Bilal in the 62nd minute of the game. Sialkot won the game by four goals.
Faisalabad in the second game of the day spanked Quetta by seventeen goals, 17-0. It was a high margin victory of the tournament. Among the point-scorers from Faisalabad, Ghulam Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Adnan added two scores apiece, while Waseem
Ahmed and Waqas Hameed accounted for a single goal each in the scoring.
Meanwhile, Bilal Qadir, Mudassar Ali and Dilber Hussain struck two scores each, while Mohammad Asad, Mohammad Asif and Mohsin Sabir chipped in one goal more in the Faisalabad's tally. Faisalabad won the game with a great margin of seventeen goals.
In the third game, Multan took Lahore down by two goals, 2-0. Mohammad Osama and Hafiz Zohaib scored one goal each in the first half while second set of play remained scoreless. The defensemen from Multan showed impressive game and won the game.
Karachi in the last contest of the day edged past PHF Academy by a single point 2-1. Mohammad Ghafoor and Ahmed Zubair scored one goal each for Karachi, while Daud Khalid added a solitary point for PHF Academy. With an impressive defence in the second half,
Karachi won the match.
