Fake Amber Alerts/Tornado Warnings?

I live in western NC and have cable through Charter Communications. On 5 different occassions I've been watching TV and it will start showing the warnings. The weird thing is that when it's an "AMBER ALERT" it just says "an amber alert has been issued for the following counties..." it doesn't give the actual description of the child like the real amber alerts do. The same thing for the Tornado warnings. Then it tells you to tune in to channel "18" (everytime it's the same channel) and the channel is "The Inspirational Network" and the channel has NOTHING about the warnings.

Has anyone ever noticed something like this?

yeah, we had a tornado warning here in wisconsin when there were only thunderstorms and hail!!  i don't know whats going on with those news channels and sirens lately.
