Fake fireworks?????????

as an answer to one of my other Q's sum1 sed that there were fake fireworks ... true or not... if true where can i get pics

The 29 bursts of fireworks in a trail leading to the stadium at the very beginning are the ones that were digital.  They actually had real fireworks in those locations at the time but didn't think they could catch it on camera so they digitally recreated it for the television broadcast, and what we saw was a digital representation of what was actually happening.  However all the other fireworks after that were real.

there were actually a lot of fireworks , the fireworks were not fake.

but the camera was a digital copy because it would be impossible for the camera to catch all the fireworks.

BOCOG said some were fake fireworks. Can't remember now why that was the case. Said most of the fireworks shown were the actual fireworks from the night and a few had been pre-filmed from different night

Yeah i heard that alot of the fireworks were computer generated and the opening ceremony wasn't even live when shown on TV.

About the 29 footstep fireworks, it is not fake. It is real. But the footage you see is digitally imposed/overlayed (probably from earlier rehearsal images). That means if you were in Beijing you will actually see the 29 foot steps fireworks on the street.

The reason they gave for digitally enhancing the footage was it is impossible to shoot all 29 steps in such quick succession and guess what, "for the safety of the helicopter crew shooting the scene".

It was previously recorded and it had a "computer-generated three-dimensional image".
