  1. Falabella are generally much smaller. They don't have any other special needs as a Shetland. They tend to be a bit more stubborn in my experience. I haven't seen any shows that you take them to or any associations. They are generally a "pet". They do founder easier than Shetlands because they are smaller and can't take in as much food as it seems.

Shetlands are closer to the AMHR which you can show with miniatures..they are an excellent showing breed (Mini's and Shetlands) They belong mostely in the same club, and there are ususally some classes that show along side minis. Shetlands are a bit more tolerant to feeding, they aren't as sensitive to founder.

    Good luck :)

  2. I love Falabellas. my one can jump bigger than most shetlands.

    3ft !!!!

Hes incredible and hes a rescue from ilph.

Silly people who left him to die they dont know what they are missing !! :)

  3. Whatever way you go, it's important to try to find a pony without the dwarf gene, or whatever it's called. That can make them disproportionate, and eventually that can cause them to break down even without doing much. But they sure are cute! Good luck! :)

  4. I've heard that Shetlands are a lot meaner and have a shorter attention span than the Falabellas.
