The Columbian national has shown great promise for Atletico Madrid, denied reports that his dream is to play for Los Blancos.
Radamel Falcao’s father Radamel Garcia recently appeared on Columbian radio programme, El Gran Debate de Todelar, sharing that it has been his son’s childhood dream to play for Real Madrid.
“His dream is to one day play for Real Madrid. Always, since childhood, he has wanted to play there,” stated the star football striker’s father.
However, the Columbian international who plays for Los Blancos’ cross town rivals, Atletico Madrid, has confirmed that this is not the case. Falcao reaffirmed his commitment to Los Rojiblancos cause, and stated he does not plan on moving to the Santiago
Bernabeu.
“So that everybody is clear: My dream is to keep on winning things with Atletico Madrid and help Colombia to get a place in World Cup 2014,” The 26-year-old striker tweeted.
Before Falcao posted his tweet, his father had also hinted that Falcao would welcome a move to the English Premier League if he cannot join Real Madrid.
“Other international football teams like Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have been interested in him. If he cannot go to Madrid, then he would go to English Football.”
He further highlighted his son’s importance for Real Madrid by stating, “Above all, he wants to go to Madrid. He will change his team at the end of the season.”
With Radamel Senior gaining a lot of publicity back home in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Colombia-c2873, his statements could very well damage his son’s football career.
Nevertheless, despite the claims of Radamel Garcia, Falcao stated that he is committed to his current club, and he has no plans about a possible change in scenery in the near future.
Reflecting on his plans for the future, the Atletico Madrid forward shared that right now his main aim is to have a successful season at the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon, win trophies, and help Colombia in qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
