The Colombian striker spoke about how he has joined Atletico Madrid to make a name for himself and not to replace the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Forlan and Sergio Aguero.
Atletico Madrid signed the Colombian striker, Radamel Falcao, from the Portuguese side, Porto.
Falcao is currently considered to be one of the best strikers in the world, and that is solely because of his conversion rate in front of goal.
Despite playing in a competitive league like La Liga, with players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 and Cristiano
Ronaldo.
Many consider the Colombian star to make a name for himself at the Spanish club, as he is considered to be one of the best converters in the world at the moment.
There were moments when many thought that Falcao might leave the Spanish capita-based club, but now it seems that he is ready to make a name for himself at Atletico Madrid, the place where players such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero have
played as strikers.
There is no doubt that Falcao can be ranked amongst these big names, as he has shown that he has the ability to perform at a bigger stage.
The Colombian star has managed to perform in not only the league, but also in Europe, as he helped his team win the Europa League last season.
This was Falcao’s second Europa League medal in three years.
While speaking to Goal.com in an exclusive interview, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276 spoke about his desire to make a name for himself at the Spanish club and said:
“I knew that Forlan and Aguero were idols here, but I didn't think I was coming to replace them or do what they had done.”
“I just wanted to leave my mark on the institution, help them with goals and help the team improve in relation to the previous season. I always put pressure on myself and that helps bring out the best in me. “
“I knew that if I did the right things that would somehow help the team make things better than how they were when they were here. But I wouldn't think of making the fans forget them because I think they are great players who did so much for the institution.”
Atletico Madrid will be competing for the fourth spot in the Spanish La Liga this season, and Falcao is definitely going to be their main asset to achieve their goals.
The Colombian striker is a hot prospect in the transfer market, but this statement definitely explains that he wants to continue at the Spanish capital-based club.
