The Atletico Madrid striker has showered praise upon his teammates for making scoring easier for him as he was named Globe Soccer’s 'Best Player of 2012'
Since Radamel Falcao’s move to Atletico Madrid, he has been placed into the category of one of the best players on this planet, mostly because of his pure striker’s instincts and lethal finishing.
Both of the attributes count for nothing if a striker is unable to score at regular basis. And Falcao is regarded as one of the best in his position due to the fact that he scores at an unbelievable rate.
The Colombian striker was signed form Portuguese outfit FC Porto, where he started to earn a reputation for himself, again because of his phenomenal goal to game ratio.
Falcao, nicknamed “El-Tigre”, had led http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 to a host of trophies as he helped them achieve a memorable treble in the 2010-2011 season.
Porto went on to bag the Prestigious UEFA Europa League crown, the Portuguese domestic division title and the Portuguese Cup trophy, all in the same season.
Falcao had scored 38 goals that season and was shortlisted by many clubs as their transfer target.
Fortunately for Atletico, they sealed the Colombian’s signature, as they were looking to replace former star striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero.
Falcao has kept on scoring at the same rate, may be even better and has 20 goals in just 16 La Liga appearances this term.
Due to his recent performances, Falcao was named as Globe Soccer’s Best Player of 2012 and was presented with the prestigious individual award.
The attacker was quick to praise his teammates for their contribution.
“Without the help of my team-mates at Atlético and in the Colombian national team I couldn't have won what I have won," he told reporters upon receiving the trophy.
"It's very important to me and for Colombian football to be present at these events and to win this type of prize," he continued. "It makes me happy to be able to put the name Columbia in the limelight, so it is known around the
world."
Falcao is currently contracted to Los Rojiblancos and has reportedly stated that he is very happy with his current situation at the Spanish capital club.
