After scoring 3 goals against last year’s Champions League winners in the UEFA Super Cup, the Columbian striker’s father has hinted towards a possible move to Chelsea in the future.
“Falcao has always wanted to play in the Premier League. Ever since he was a boy he has loved Chelsea and has always thought it would be an honour to play for a big Premier League team,” said Radamel Falcao’s father, Radamel Garcia.
When asked about any possible transfer in January to Chelsea, Radamel Garcia replied in the affirmative stating, “There are three teams interested – Manchester City, Chelsea, and a Russian team.”
Falcao has proven to be one of the most skilled strikers in the world at the moment. Scoring two hat-tricks in two matches, Falcao is bound to be sought after this season.
The young Columbian star destroyed the Blues in last Friday’s UEFA Super Cup game, scoring three goals in their 4-1 victory.
There were rumours suggesting that Falcao might move to Chelsea after the match; however, Atletico Madrid’s manager, Diego Simeone, took a sigh of relief when the transfer window closed and Falcao was still wearing a red and white striped shirt.
It seems that the young striker may move in January when the transfer window opens up again.
Reports in Columbia state that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have already reached a pre-agreement for the Columbian striker, however, the European champions have denied such agreements, and Radamel Senior also states that any agreements would be based on a transfer fee.
With a minimum release clause for 55 million Euros, Falcao is definitely an expensive player, but with the ability to score from nearly every conceivable angle, he may be worth it.
However, it’s not only Chelsea that want him as Manchester City have also shown some interest, and it seems like the young striker could go either way.
All in all, one thing that is determinable is the fact that Falcao is an unstoppable machine, and when he is given the opportunity, he can ram through the opposing team’s defences, and thrash the ball into the back of the net with such ease and flair, that
one may think he was born for it.
