Fall Weather Predictions?

What is the weather going to be like this fall in New York (Hudson Valley)? Last year during September it was really hot and humid so this year I'm hoping for a nice cool fall. Can anyone give me some insight on this?

Hard to say this far in advance.  The latest prediction slightly favors temperatures to be warmer than average overall, with slightly enhanced chances for above average precipitation.  This is a 3 month average, from September through November.  There will be some cool spells embedded within that time period.
