There was a large branch in the alley next to our yard this morning, when I came home, it was moved into our yard. Whoever moved it must have thought it was ours, but it is not because the leaves on it are not even the same type of leaves on our tree, therefore it cannot be ours. There isn't any other trees around when the branch was in the alley. So someone must have moved it there to begin with. What appropriate actions can I take?

  1. Oh my gosh, just put it back in the alley.  It took you more time and energy to write this than it would have to have just moved it in the first place.

  2. Start sawing and sharing with neighbors ..........see which tree it came off of and approach the people and see if they have garbage service.

  3. Put it back in the alley, or cut it and remove it yourself.

  4. I would cut it up and put it in the trash instead of obsessing on how it got there and to whom it belongs.  Just cut it up, put it in the trash, and the problem is solved.
