Falling dreams?

i was wondering if it's normal to have falling dreams but never hit the ground?

i'd wake up everytime I hit the ground in my dream. And yes I have had those dreams alot! My heart beats so fast that sometime I woke before I even hit the ground...

I, too, have found falling dreams to be extremely common. When I've had them, I'm usually in a hypnagogic state -- meaning the inter between being awake and falling asleep, where you're just letting your mind wander (or 'hallucinating') in quiet comfort.

The old tale is that if you hit the ground in a falling dream you'll die... But if that were true, who would've told the story? Lol... I have it from good source that that's just an old tale.

Falling dreams are very common.

How do you feel when you're falling in these dreams? Do you feel free or do you feel powerless? Is it fun or scary? That will make a big difference to what it means.

I heard somewhere if you do hit the ground, you actually die, or your going to die soon

I always have those types of dreams too and know a few friends that have them often.

I've also referenced a dream book, which suggests that the fall signifies an area of life.

The fall represents the struggle or current problem.

  The fact that you are falling without hitting the ground suggests that while you have a difficult situation or conumdrum, you have NOT hit rock bottom and therefore, you still have hope for the sitaution.

But to answer your question, yes, it is normal :)

i've studied dreams and anything related to that subject, and to have falling dreams in my opinion means you are probably doing some astral traveling.. well your soul is.. and you more than likely are trying to wake up before your soul has a chance to get back into your body. That makes it a feeling of falling ... at the least that is what i read.. in several books.
