Kieren Fallon has been given an 18 month WORLDWIDE ban from race riding following his postive test for cocaine.

Is this the end of his career or can he come back from it and will Coolmore stand by him?

I personally doubt that Coolmore will stand by him, but a comeback is possible.

It is a great shame, he is a very talented horseman, but obviously a tortured soul.

  1. i think thats it i"m afraid why does it always happen to the "greats" and who will be next ? hope he proves me wrong !

  2. I think he deserved the ban. Actually any jockey that has an addictive disorder should be banned. In the U.S., Patrick Valenzuela was suspended for addictive disorders. I think that was a needed ban. He has been stuggling with addictions for a long time. Kieren Fallon was tested positive for cocaine. He is a great rider but he should be banned for a little while. Maybe that will help him realize what he is doing. I don't think Coolmore will stand by him. But yes, a comeback is very possible. Dylan Thomas was his main horse this year. Maybe 2 years from now he will get a horse like him.

  3. I believe he deserves this ban. He has earned so much money from a sport he has abused.

  4. There is an appeal pending, I say good luck to him and hope he is successful with it

  5. i publicly stated when his trial for race fixing collapsed that i will never back another horse he rides again and i stand by that .even though the case was thrown out of court i still feel that he deceived the betting public. but your question was about the drug ban .i feel  the ban is about right and fits in with other bans that have been given out for similar offences .as to whether he can make a come back who knows .he has got 18 months to reflect on what he wants to do . but i wouldn't be at all surprised if we saw him in the saddle again . but i doubt that will be with coolmore.

  6. I feel no sorrow for him, it was HIS choice to take the drugs,no one forced them up his nose. 18 months is being lenient on him...If I took drugs at work & was caught I would be sacked outright no questions asked & no foot back in the door..I for one will never back another of his rides because I still think he`s a cheating b`stard as well.

  7. deserves it IMO. he'll be back but if he uses drugs that are illegal then he should be punished as any other jockey would be.

  8. ooohhh that's a shock..

when i was in the uk i was an avid racegoer.. flat only.. never like the jumps

if i remember rightly didn't dettori get caught for that although i don't remember a ban...

i would think he'll hang up his boots, could he go into training or has he been "warned off"

  9. Talented yes. But no angel. Anyone  got got doing drugs, has to pay the price . He has to be made an example of.

Tortured soul my ****. He's a  wealthy sportsman who has

been exposed as a drug user not the addict you are implying he is. No sympathy at all on that score. Only that the horses l would back because he is the jocky will have someone less talented than him on its back.

  10. Hooray ! About time.

  11. He needs help rather than being punished by a gang of Frogs who are just trying to get the No 1 spot at Ballydoyle for Christophe Soumillon and while Aidan O`Brien does not want him J.P, Magnier rules the roost so back Soumillon to be stable jockey at Ballydoyle next season at 16/1

    Kieran is still the greatest.

  12. Well we all new this ban was inevitable and aim afraid Kieren  Fallon made his own bed and now its time to lie in it.

yes i agree its a great waste of talent you just have to look at his career to see the man was a genius. six time British champion and what sad way to finish your career.

weather cool more stand by Koren or not is pretty much irrelevant now and as for a come back , well yes its possible but what will that make him 45? or close to it so he would have that fitness mountain to climb.

only the next 18 months will give us the answers but i personally think a retirement is on the cards.
