False arrest - would you believe this story?

I recently met a man from an online dating site. Because I have met some real losers, I now ask if a man has been arrested in his life, before I date him. This one said yes, he has been arrested once, but it was false arrest and it was because he was being persecuted for love.

What the heck does that mean?

It could have been explained, but instead he told you he had been persecuted for "love"?  That sounds like he's trying to tell you that he either stalked someone, abused his wife, or raped someone.  Ha ha, that is a new one, persecuted for love!  Wonder if that convinced the judge to drop the charges?

Could be very minor and explainable, but since he didnt try, I would be very concerned.

If it was truly a false arrest, then he wouldn't be so vague. Sounds like a girlfriend or wife called the cops on him for some reason. The cops don't arrest you just because your girlfriend is mad at you. He had to have done something.

If he actually had a legitimate reason for being arrested, he would have explianed himself right then.  So, either he was totally kidding when he said something so rediculous, or he's a woman beater.

This man is bending the truth.  Be very careful, it sounds very suspicious and he sounds as though he is attempting to control you (with that love line).

False arrest do happen. Back in the 80s some guy i knew was learning to be a cop and he said "It will be fun to arrest people on false charges" I don't know if he ever became a cop. i hope not.
