I took a Walgreen pregnancy test Thursday about 8pm Friday I just thought I would look at it and it was positive and about a hour after that I took another pregnancy test and it was negative and this morning Saturday it is still negative what does that mean was it just that the second test I was drinking alots of water or the first was just a false positive

  1. i thought my test was positive one time, it turned out to be a negative line and evaporation line, it was very faint, but it was there. 2 lines! i took another test and it came up neg, went to the doctors, neg. limit your liquid intake the night before, because the test is looking for concentrated amounts of hcg that can be diluted by your liquid consumption. if you are still concernd you can always go to the docs. good luck to you!!

  2. Evaporation line is very common nowdays.

  3. do u miss ur period yet?if u do,first read the instruction of test and see u were right in explain the result or not,if u r wait another 2-3days and do again or u can do blood test for sure.

  4. it is best to take a test with your first morning urine (FMU) because if you are pregnant it is more concentrated with baby hormones!  When is/was you period due...it may just be too early...

  5. As so many sad teens learn all too well--a false positive is a rare thing.  Very few things can cause a buildup of hcg in the urine other than a preganancy.  Even if only one of your tests was positive--that's STILL a positive.  If you looked at it much later then yes, it could be an evaportation line.  If your pink line showed immediately then you are pregnant.

My advice to you would be to go purchase an Answer brand test.  They do not have evaportation lines and the result does not change after long periods of time.  Best of luck.

  6. no, you need to read the instructions on the test, you can't look at the test after an hour, the results need to be read usually with in 10 minutes so anything after that is useless... if you still think you are you can call a doctor but if you have already missed a period (such that you aren't testing too soon) the negative tests are the accurate ones and the positive test is irrelevant

  7. You only have 10 minutes to look at the result and then the result could change and become invalid. What answer did you receive when you tested Thursday at 8 pm? That is your result. It is very common for the results to change over time...so ignore the results you saw on Friday and Saturday.
