Falsifying my fafsa at school

whats the worse that can happend if i falsify my fafsa at school and say it was a mistake, will that go through?

  1. Best case is they deny you aid. Worst case is they don't believe it was a mistake and they prosecute.


  2. This just screams BAD IDEA.  If you need money for college that badly, go rob a bank like the other kids did.

    (please realize that I was being sarcastic, and I am in no way serious about you robbing a bank.)

    somebody could find out, and maybe even black mail you.

  6. That is Federal Fraud.  They could just take the money back, or they can send you to jail.  Besides, you have to prove basically everything.  You have to provide copies of your tax returns to show income, so you can't falsify that.  I had to show the school copies of my kids birth certificates to list them as dependents. My school may be stricter than some, but don't lie.  The consequences aren't worth it.
