    3. If you still want to go watch the Midnight Express, an american movie which describes what happens to people who are arrested by the Turk authorities.

  3. Although Famagusta is still really a ghost town, you can actually take a coach tour from the south of the island to this region, and I think the trip also goes to Kyrenia too.

Although the North is still ( illegally) Turkish occupied, travel between the South and the North has been relaxed a little in recent years. In fact, just a couple of months ago, the checkpoint between the two in Ledras Street in Lefkosia ( Nicosia) was opened up, and it is now possible to walk across the border at this point, though you must remember to have your passport with you as you pass through.

If you should decide to go across to the North, it is worth noting that if you are in a hire car, the hire car company will render your insurance invalid for driving in the North ( they will usually tell you this when you pick your car up.)

I live in Xylofagou, just a short drive from Agia Napa.

  4. I am going to Kyrenia this week , I will tell you about my experience in northen Cyprus when I come back
