Fame Again and Shadowtime to battle out the George Kilburn Memorial Handicap
The line-up of sixteen for the Class 5 George Kilburn Memorial Handicap have brought together quite a few names who have the potential of bagging the £2,264 prize money. Eeny Mac and Shadowtime are the track experts, and can find a gap to prevail in the race, however the recent performance of Desert Romance and Fame Again has made them the preference in the field today.
The four-year-old bay gelding, Fame Again, at last posted in the first success of the career through the ten outings ever since the beginning of the career on 21st February.
The Michael Easterby trained won the Event Management Catering Handicap on 8th September, 2012 at Wolverhampton over a mile and half a furlong.
Despite getting ridden over after a strong start from the fifth gate, Gentleman’s Deal’s gelding held on to the grip firmly, and ended up winning by the margin of a length from, Green Mitas.
The favourite entry of the race, Refreshestheparts, ended third on the race track.
The last time that Fame Again raced at Beverley race course, he ended fifth in the field of eight in the Irishbigracetrends.com Handicap on 17th July, 2012 over a mile and half a furlong.
The race was won by, Lockantanks.
The second career try at Wolverhampton was lucky for him, and today too there just might be the chance that Fame Again can reap advantage out of his second experience at Beverley race course.
The 8 to 1 entry was ridden by jockey, Paul Mulrennan, and will steer through the track distance under the guidance of the same jockey again.
Another threatening entry who was successful just recently is the seven-year-old bay gelding, Shadowtime.
He was the winner of the Book Your 22nd October Totesport Package Handicap on 20th September, 2012 at Pontefract over a mile. Shadowtime, the mount of jockey, Dale Swift, won by the margin of the 2 ¼ lengths, and defeated, Fastnet Storm, into the second position.
The Tracy Waggott trained, 6 to 1 entry for the race will get to ride with the same jockey today, and the duo will take off from the ninth stall.
