If the men in my family are skinnier and the women are not so much, since i'm a woman, will I most likely follow the pattern of the women or do I still have a 50/50 chance?

  1. Eating habits and exercise are important factors to consider if you are wondering about your chances of being overweight. In fact, unless you have a genetic disorder like a hormone irregularity, exercise and diet are really all you should be worrying about.

  2. Shouldn't you know already? I'd say 50/50, i take after my dad in that area.

  3. All the genes we have are not necessarily active or showing. In other words, I can have the gene for baldness and never go bald. YET, I can pass it on to my son or grandson.

There are too many genes in the human body to just look at two people and tell what their kids will look like (in most cases). But OBVIOUSLY, two Asian parents will have ASIAN kids. However, two short people may not necessarily have short kids.

  4. you will be 60% of your mom and 40% of your dad
