Question:

Family Reunification in Canada - HELP!!!?

by  |  earlier

All of my sisters are in Toronto, Canada including my Dad and they are all permanent residents. My Mom however was already sponsored by my sister and she is just waiting for her medical exam to complete the process.

If my mom’s sponsorship pushes through, Would it be possible for her to file or any of my sisters to file a Family Reunification Program to sponsor me and my family here in the Philippines. I am currently married with 2 kids and we would love to go to Canada as well but we don’t know the fastest way to get there.

Is there really a Family Reunification Program? Is there an application for "last remaining relative program" that we can avail of?

Any response is highly appreciated. Thanks.

  1. Unfortunately the program does not apply to you.  For you to qualify you must be below 21 years old, single and your mom's dependent (it usually means your still in school and she's paying for all your expenses).  Your best bet is to be sponsored by any of your sisters to be a live in caregiver for their kids (that's if they have any) or apply as a skilled worker.

  2. As the previous posted indicated, that program is for dependents rather than for all extended family members.  The caregiver program may be a viable option for you.  Here are the links you need to study to figure out which would be the best route for you.  You may get extra points toward your application because you have family in Canada.  Best of luck with your plans.
