  1. My first thought is where is the reuniongoing to be inside or outside and how will people be dressed.

    Outdoors, casual and running around

Inside, a little more formal, sitting and talking, etc...

If outside, it is sometimes tough to get everyone involved as a teenager can run around but grandma may not be able to run.

So maybe a scavenger hunt. (Amazing Race - type game)

If you coordinate it with your location and relatives you could do a scavenger hunt for the kids.

Scout out the location and then dtermine several points where relative could go and hand out challenges and clues like on tv.

Maybe the challenges by running or go get a beverage or take a photo of soemone (be creative). Then once they complete the challenge give them a clue to the next clue.

This will take work, but it could be fun. If you want some other ideas check out this page: http://partygameideas.com/family-games/

  2. A great indoor game (or outdoor on picnic table with little wind) is a card game called Bohnanza. It's all about planting beans and trading beans to get gold. It's a really social negotiation/trading game and I haven't met a person who didn't like it after playing it. If you don't have it, the game is pretty cheap to get. Kids will laugh at the cartoon bean characters. This game is really great for adults, especially those who think they are great negotiators because they'll offer creative trades and in the end, may be beat by some kid! The box says 45 minutes a game, though, in my experience, it takes longer than that. My friends are very creative negotiators. The box also says 2-7 players, but the 2 player version is pretty lame. 3 is okay but 4-5 is when the fun really comes along. It's a noisy, talking game of secret strategies, trading (backstabbing), but in the end playing nice might be the best way to get ahead. Highly recommended!

  3. water baloon fight, three legged race, basketball and other sports, obstacle courses, and whatever your family likes.
