Family Skiing near New York City?

I will be in NYC on the 14th of Dec. 2007 and would like to take the family to a nearby skiing resort. Any suggestion? Maybe a day trip package from New York?

I would say head to the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  It's about 1 1/2 - 2 hours from the city.  Many times you could even find a ski shop in the city that does day trips on a bus.  I was an instructor at both Shawnee and Camelback and I'd reccommend either one.  Shawnee is more of a family place, while Camelback tends to have more singles.  At least that's the way is was when I was there (mid to late '90s)

The Catskills are ok, but like the person said in the earlier post, it's kind of crazy there on the weekends.  I would NEVER go to Hunter on a weekend.  Besides, Hunter is more singles and Windham is more family orienented.
