I will be taking by family to Vancouver, Canada. What are some great things to do and see? (The age of our kids is 2-8)

Please only provide me with information if you have been or live there. (I have already searched the internet and been to a vast majority of the Vancouver tourism websites.)

  1. If you're going in the summer go to the following places:

    1.  Grouse Mountain - great tram ride and lots of activities for families up top of the mountain.

    2.  Vancouver Aquarium at Stanley Park.  Lots to do in the park including an outdoor pool along the seawall (Second or Third Beach).

    3.  Granville Island.  Take the kids to the outdoor spray park at the entrance to the island and then wander the island.

    4.  Take the Seabus from North Vancouver to downtown Vancouver.

    5.  Kitsilano Beach and Kits Beach Pool.

A lot of people may recommend Science World but I find it to be an expensive waste of money for children under 7 or 8 years old.   Please skip the Zoo in Langley.  It is a waste of money and should be shut down due to the conditions the animals live in.

Hope this helps.  Have a great trip.

  2. I live in Canda! And you'll love it!

    Depends when your going,

if you going in the summer you could go site seeing (beautiful!) camping, white-water rafting, hiking, you could go to wonderland (thats in toronto, ontario) . The kids with love camping. Go to one of the provincial parks, you wont be disappointed! In ontario theres lotd of provincial parks and there amazing. We've seen bears, racoons, deer, sea ottters, foxes.! Its amazing (once again!)

    Hope I helped!

  3. Go to the Aquarium (in stanley park)

Go up Grouse Mountain (in the winter theres skiing etc. but in the summer theres alot of shows and fun things to do)

Space World? (Telus world of Science, the IMAX theatre is cool and is really fun for kids)

And take a ferry ride (from Horshoe Bay) To Nanimo and check out Long beach (it will probably be really rainy just to warn you but its really windy and i thought it was fun when i was a kid, and the ferry ride lol)

I would say skip Victoria, not alot of fun stuff for kids.

  4. Go over to Victoria!!! It's a lot prettier than Vancouver (the city), there's a lot less crime & there are tons of fun things to do in a much smaller (and cleaner) area. We go almost every year and find more and more to do every time. Fun stuff for kids of all ages: Royal BC museum with an IMAX, underwater adventure (aquarium), wax museum, dinner theatre, bus to the gardens, haunted house, waterfront fun, chinatown, arts, food, street fairs, bike rental.... FUN! All of this stuff is within like an 8-10 block radius.

We found a clean, reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of everything called Paul's Motor Inn.

Sorry if this isn't what you were looking for.
