  1. HONDA CIVIC , I HAVE A 4 DOOR AND I GET 35-40 MPG AND YEP .YOU SHOULD GET ONE TOO

  2. nissan altima, honda accord or toyota camry. all super reliable cars that get great gas mileage and have good perfomance. id go with the honda accord it has the best resale value

  3. 09 Hyundai Sonata GLS. One of the safest midsized cars on the road with one of the largest interiors as well. The 4 cylinder is one of the most fuel efficient in it's class at 32 mpg. Starts at 18k

  4. Honda Accord!!

  5. Gotta go with Mikey on this one, in this day and age where the corporate headquarters are or where the company started means absolutely nothing anymore. Toyota started building cars completely in the States (partly because that was one condition they had to meet in order to be allowed to race in NASCAR) and a lot of American cars have most of their parts manufactured outside the States. (Chevy motors are built in Canada and Mexico) Go to all the dealerships, tell the dealers the exact same thing, "What cars do you have on the lot that are 2 yrs old or less, have some remaining factory warranty, 4 doors, dual airbags, ABS under $20K". Drive whatever they have and move on to the next dealership. Take a notebook with you and write down what you like/dislike about each car you drive. Go home and get on the internet and research the top 3 cars based on your testdrives. Look at resale values, average maintenance costs, insurance cost differences between models, etc. Then you can make an informed decision.

  6. why limit yourself to non-american...are you non-american too?  You should be prepared for the fact that some " non-american vehicles" from Honda and Toyota are actually built here in the USA, and that some "american' cars are built overseas...too bad, yeah?  maybe you should go drive the cars in your price range, irrespective of the names, and buy based on the best value rather than your prejudice against american cars...just a thought, by the way, for 20 K, I would go to Ford, Chevy and Dodge-great financing, and the best warranties...good luck.

  7. Toyota Camry all the way. Great car, great performance. I'd look at a good 2004-2006 model year. You can get a nice one for $20k.
