Family cooking question?

We just bought a house and I will be cooking at home now instead of eating out. I need some recipes that are pretty simple and inexpensive that I could feed my family and have enough left over to freeze for leftovers. Thanks!

I cook alot at home and I got quite a few recipes from these places

  2. I always look on www.allrecipes.com for ideas and recipes.  All the recipes have ratings and reviews so you kind of know what your getting into and how good the recipe is.

Look for recipes like chili, soup, casserole and other meals that are cheap and easy to freeze.

    Some simple ideas are...

Tuna casserole, turkey or chicken divan, tacos, haystacks (canned beans over corn chips with lettuce, tomato, cheese and sr. cream), chicken fajitas, spaghetti, home made mac

& cheese, poppy seed chicken over noodles, etc.

When I make these things, I don't usually freeze them, but keep in the fridge for a few days, heating up for lunches or later dinners.

  3. I have recently started doing some of the 30 day cooking and have fallen in love with it. I am making 9 pounds of meatloaf and meatballs tomorrow or sunday for the freezer. I am also making 2 different kinds of casseroles to freeze too. all the recipes are from a book called "30 day gourmet". I also like to put a pint of orange juice and 8ounces of honey in a bag with  chicken b*****s and throw it in the freezer. The day I want to serve it I throw it in the fridge to thaw. The last time I made a stirfry out of it. I sliced up the chicken and cooked it in the marinade. When the marinade was almost cooked down I threw in a bag of frozen stirfry veggies and cooked it until they were hot. everyone really liked it.

  4. kraftfoods.com has great recipes that they send every few days to your email if you sign up... you can alter the recipes to make them healthier, and they give a lot of ideas! Good luck.. :)

  5. Rachael Ray's website gives alot of good ideas- as well as foodtv.com.  I think if you can find some good soup recipes- that's usually fine to freeze.  Lazagna would be great too.  Or recipes for sauces you can use with pasta.  You can freeze the sauce and just thaw it and get the pasta out.  Get lots of freezer ziploc bags or plastic containers that can also go in the frezzer- lock and lock can and some tupperware can.  I buy onions, peppers, other veggies and chop them up and freeze them in a ziploc bag so that I always have some on hand.
