  1. My children are all grown up now but the basic rules were  that they were polite to each (I had four children), respected each other's possessions and space, with no swearing, smoking or drinking and that they were expected to keep their rooms tidy, putting dirty clothes in the washing basket etc.  We had a rota for who did the washing up, putting out the trash etc. and perhaps I was lucky, but they (more or less) kept to the rules.  The main and most  important rule that they had to keep, on pain of death, was that when I and their Dad came in for work we were not to be bothered by ANYTHING for 20 minutes whilst we relaxed and had a cup of tea before starting on the evening meal, helping with homework etc.  When we had visitors, or were out as a family in a restaurant etc. the main rule was "Speak only when spoken to".

    Be home by your curfew.

Help around the house if you want to go out with your friends.

    Assigned jobs.

Be polite at home and not at home.

    No smoking, drinking.

If something happens and you need help call. (Duh)

Normal stuff. Most parents raise their kids the way they were raised. Unless they had a bad childhood. My dad's childhood was f*cked up. So he raised us completely opposet of how his parents raised him.
