  4. My husband has a cousin that used her maiden name as the baby girl's first name:  Journy  

  5. my husband's family goes the family name as a middle. it's means, so yeah, my husband's middle name is "means". odd.

  6. My friend's daughter is Brennan.  That was my friend's husband's grandmother's maiden name.

  15. Well, my middle name is Marie as is my aunties and her daughters so it's sort of a tradition thing going on and my grandad is called James, his son is called James and his son is called James but everyone calls them Jim or Jimmy.

  16. I can't STAND that STUPID trend of giving last names as first names!  I'd be soooo embarrassed if my first name was someone else's last name.

    The only one I know is some idiot who named his kid after his mother's maiden name, which was Lincoln.  Ugh!

  17. My next child (boy or girl) will take my maiden name, Parker,  as their first name. I think that your childs name should mean something to you. so a family name is a cute way to go.

    My aunt has been very creative with this.

    Her mom and dad have the last name (her maiden name) of Parker, and she named one of her sons this as a first name.

    She has done this with other names too. Like way back in the fam was the last name Sawyer, and she named another one of her boys that!!

    It can be done just use your imagination and don't be scared to try somethin new!

  21. I don't know anyone personally but I would love to do it with my last name, the only think is it would not fit a poor 5 year old going to school! But, in a book my sister has, a characters name is Ripley, after her mothers family name.

  29. My sister wanted to carry on our last name so she made it my niece's first name: Mackenzie.

    The only difference is that our last name has a captial K (MacKenzie)

    And my father, brother, and nephew all have the same first name with different middle names and the same last name.

    Taylor was my friends maiden name and they gave it to their son.

    Lanen was my other friends maiden name and they used it as their son's first name as well.

    I guess it depends on the last name.
