So im going on a missions trip to mexico to the town my great-grandfather lived in before he came to mexico. I might possibly have some family there, and my question is this...

If i had family there what relation would they be to me. ie. second uncles and aunts? I cant figure out what the proper term they would be. like if there was family there that was my great grandfathers brothers or sisters children... im lost haha. its really not a big deal, but it just has me stump'd and i want the answer haha.

have a good sunday, later!

  1. Hopefully this will help you out.  It's relationship terms.  It will help you figure out if they are 1st cousins, 1st cousins once removed and so on.

    Good luck!

  2. Your grandparents brothers or sisters would be grand uncles or grand aunts.  Their children would be your parents first cousin and they would be your first cousins once removed.

  3. If someone is your great grandfathers brother's or sister's child, then they would be your grandfather or grandmother's couisin, which would be your parent's couisin once removed and would be your cousin twice removed.

Hope this makes sense.  If you want to see a good chart that explains this, follow this link:
