Famous Poet tipped to win Investec Asset Management Handicap
Famous Poet has got the best chances of winning the Investec Asset Management Handicap at Epsom in England on Friday, June 1, 2012. The winner of the class-2 event will be awarded a cash prize of £12,450.
The going will be good in the 7 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 17:25 GMT, and a total of 15 runners have been attracted towards it. Their names are as follows: Sholaan, Famous Poet, Laffan, Van Ellis, Dutch Old Master, Fire Ship, My Sharona,
Prince Alzain, Alejandro, Crown Dependency, Dissent, Semayyel, Compton, Moon Pearl and Sheikh The Reins.
Out of the above mentioned runners Compton, Semayyel and Moon Pearl might miss out on action today. The former of them was in very good shape and could have managed to win the race.
There are still some very good runners lined scheduled to participate in the race and one of them is, Famous Poet, who has got a terrific record and has been delivering some positive results since making his debut in the sport.
The three-year-old colt has participated in four races so far, winning a couple of them. In addition to that, he has also secured the runner up spot once, which means that he only dropped out of the top three once.
In his most recent outing, the Saeed Bin Suroor’s trainee finished runner up, despite being rated as the favourite to win. He did not get an ideal start, thus struggled to make up places in the end. However, he has the tools to make a strong comeback today.
Famous Poet will be ridden by Frankie Dettori, who needs no introduction at all. He is one of the best riders in the business and will be looking forward to dominate proceedings at Epsom.
However, Laffan might spoil the party for Famous Poet, as he is carrying the winning momentum at the moment. He did not start his career in an ideal way, but improved to a great extent afterwards.
The three-year-old gelding has won three races out of seven attempts whereas finished third once. He was able to claim the top spot in his most recent outing, which shows that he has the ability to deliver a solid run at Epsom today.
