  1. Lots of them, mostly outlaws, presidents, president's wives (you know what they say about every great man) and writers (what a mixed bag of nuts)

    On my mom's side:

    John F. Kennedy (35th president)

    Lyndon B. Johnson (36th president)

    Richard M. Nixon (37th president)

    George H.W. Bush (41st president)

George W. Bush (43rd and current president)

Angelica Van Buren (daughter-in-law and First Lady to 8th president of the U.S., Martin Van Buren)

Jane Appleton Pierce (wife and First Lady of 14th president Franklin Pierce)

Geoffrey Chaucer (among other things, a writer, wrote Canterbury Tales), 20th great grandfather (his sister-in-law was Katherine Swynford, great-great grandmother of Henry VII, father of Henry VIII, grandfather of Elizabeth I)

John De La Pole, (Geoffrey Chaucer's great-great grandson) heir to the throne, before Richard III was deposed, Richard's nephew through his older sister Elizabeth (I'm not related to Richard III, that I am aware of)

    Butch Cassidy (outlaw)

Clyde (of Bonnie and Clyde) and Buck Barrow (outlaws)

    Doc Holiday (outlaw)

John Wesley Hardin, outlaw, rumoured to have once killed a man for snoring too loud.

    Jane Austen (writer)

    Jonathan Swift (writer and priest)

    Mark Twain (writer)

Milton Wright (priest, father of Orville and Wilbur Wright) once quoted as saying "Men will never fly, God reserved flying for angels"

    Orville and Wibur Wright

    Benjamin West (painter)

    Booker T. Washington

    Ruby Dee (actress)

    On dad's side:

Thomas Nelson Jr. (politican), 12th great grandfather

    Francis Lightfoot Lee (politician)

    Zachary Taylor (12th president)

John Charles Fremount, an American military officer, explorer, the first candidate of the Republican Party for the office of President of the United States, and the first presidential candidate of a major party to run on a platform in opposition to slavery.

Charles Carroll, was the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence.

    Franklin Pierce (14th president)

Oliver Winchester and William Winchester (of Winchester rifles)

Claudia Taylor Johnson (First Lady and wife of L.B. Johnson, 36th president)

Ellen Louise Axson Wilson (first wife and First Lady of Woodrow Wilson)

Oliver Wendell Holmes, a doctor and writer, wrote the famous poem "Old Ironsides" about a U.S. naval ship. The ship later was made a monument; he also coined the word "anesthesia."

James Maitland Stewart was an Academy Award-winning American actor. (played George on It's a Wonderful Life)

    Mae West, famous actress

  2. A direct maternal ancestor, Colonel William Crawford, a lifelong friend of George Washington, led the Sandusky Campaign against the Delaware Indians during the American Revolutionary War whereupon he was captured, tortured and killed. His father, incidentally, was Washington's secretary.  My mother's cousin, Bill Dougherty, a Texas A & M grad, was first on the beach at Anzio, Italy, in World War II, whereupon he spent the rest of his life in a Veteran's Hospital.

A direct paternal ancestor, a Scottish immigrant named John Crawford, a younger son of the Earl of Crawford, was one of the leaders of Bacon's Rebellion, a protest against whiskey taxes in Colonial Virginia.  His son, David, served in the Virginia House of Burgesses, and his plantation later became the site of Richmond, Virginia. He was also killed by Indians. The Crawfords trace their ancestry back to Robert the Bruce; and yes, my mom and dad are distant cousins. Two of my maternal ancestors were Jacobites who fought at the Battle of Culloden--a Christian MacLachlan died there, and a John Macquarrie was transported to the American colonies.  I suppose that makes my Scottish ancestors whiskey-drinking,  Indian and English fighters. I'm also a distant cousin of Davy Crockett on my dad's side. Remember the Alamo!

  3. yeah my uncle plays arena football dont know his name, jersey number or team he is on that sucks 4 me

  4. Davy Crockett and Hoagie Charmichael (Guy who wrote Georgia On My Mind)

The Christian family to whom I am related there can trace their heritage back to an English Monarch, correct me if I am wrong, Alexandra I?

It matters more to me about whom you are than rule over anothers finances, it is much better to be in their hearts and minds like the Danish Royal Family are?

Aparently The Danes have the most popular Royal family in the world, it was at the Sydney Olympics Mary met Fredrick and hit it off with the kids later, a Tassie Chick with a Scotish heritage we Aussies are so very proud of em all.

I worked in protocol at the airport during the Sydney Olympics in the Premiers Disaster Response and Special Services section, it was such fun, loved it!
