Fan abuse the major reason for Ronaldo’s retirement: Roberto Carlos
Former Real Madrid full-back Roberto Carlos believes that the sort of abuse he and former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 team-mate Ronaldo endured from the Corinthians fans, was the major reason behind Ronaldo’s decision to call it a day.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991. Ronaldo himself hasn’t hinted towards any fan abuse during his farewell press conference, but Carlos believes
that the situation with the fans in Sao Paulo is just out of control.

"This was one of the reasons why Ronaldo left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corinthians-c38855. Ronaldo was just waiting for me to take the decision for him to do so as well. People don't have to go through such experiences," stated the left-back.
Corinthians' recent crash out from Copa Libertadores in the opening stages has fuelled a lot of reactions from the fans, who have made heinous graffiti on the walls along with damaging cars that belonged to players and staff. Carlos played no part of the
tournament owing to an injury, but the fans still didn’t think too highly off him and he too was victim of the violence. The Brazilian confirmed that the only reason behind him leaving the club was the fan abuse, as he had looked to stay with his native club
for at least another year.

"I took this decision because it is a situation no-one should be put in as a footballer. It happened here and I felt awful, unfairly punished because I didn't even play, and I went there to play, I could have done without a problem," added the 37-year-old.
Legendary forward Viola also backed Carlos’s comments regarding the issue and believed that the physical pain and fatigue had little to do with Ronaldo’s retirement.

"As I have been in football a long time, I know that Ronaldo didn't stop because of his injuries. He retired because of the abuse from the fans, who are definitely not real fans of the Fiel. They went to attack the players and they focused on two people: Ronaldo
and Roberto Carlos," added Viola.
Ronaldo is considered one of the best centre forwards of all time, having scored 317 times in his club career. Also, he has scored 67 times for the Brazilian national side and his presence in the game would be sorely missed by all the football fans around
the globe.
