Manny Pacquiao’s controversial WBO welterweight title loss to Timothy Bradley was a shock for nearly every Pacquiao fan. For one fan, the loss was so shocking that it took his life. A Filipino fan of the boxing icon Manny Pacquiao suffered from a deadly
heart attack right after he saw his idol being cheated by the judges.
Bienvenido Perez was 59 and a diehard fan of Manny Pacquiao. He was extremely happy when Manny Pacquiao won against Mexican pugilist Juan Manuel Marquez. However, this time, things did not went that good for Perez. He suffered a heart attack and was rushed
to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Henry Macion, Chairman of Barangay Rosary Heights 4, revealed the details. According to him, Perez lost his wife due to the controversial decision Pacquiao suffered.
He added, “He was so disappointed with his idol’s loss. He has a heart problem but the boxing result worsened his situation,” Macion said, adding that his last words was “gitikasan si Manny (Manny was cheated). He was so happy then when Pacquiao won over
Marquez, now he was so disappointed and thus the heart attack.”
Manny Pacquiao’s controversial loss to Timothy Bradley shocked thousands of Pacquiao’s fans around the world. Most analysts, fighters and journalists rated the fight in Pacquiao’s favour. Even the commentators in the arena had given Pacquiao eleven rounds
out of twelve. However, when the results were announced, Bradley won and he walked away with the WBO welterweight title.
Manny Pacquiao, who has recently taken a complete religious turn in life, believes whatever happened was God’s plan of something better to come. Manny is currently in the Philippines helping the flood victims. On his arrival in his home country, the former
champion thanked his fans for their support and urged them to stay calm and accept his defeat.
In the post-fight interview, when asked, Pacquiao revealed that he thought he had won the fight. On the other hand, Bradley was unsure as to whether he was the rightful winner or not. Later on, when Bradley watched the tape, he released a statement saying
that he indeed win.
