Question:

Fancy Dress - ideas anyone??

I'm one of two hosts of a fancy dress birthday party. We've made3 the theme holidays, so anything to do with ... Christmas, Australia Day, Easter, Labour Day, Vanlentine's Day, St Patrick's Day - just the obvious holidays.

I need to stand out. It can be lame, cos I reckon making the costume will make it so much funnier!

The other host is going as an Australian Flag and she's making the costume.

I'm stuck on ideas!!! I'd love anyone to give me their take.

By the way, I'm a male.

Cheers to all the replies in advance!

  1. why not go as hawain dancer easy  to make or buy cheaply get false tan plenty flowers etc you wil stand out from rest great everyone with flowers like they do get busy now loads of flower neck lace to make good luck

  2. Labor Day- go in drag with a pillow/cushion over you gut and scream/curse for an hour or so.

St.Patrick's Day- dress in 12th century clothing and carry a sack of snakes(fake ones are probably best).

St.Georges Day- a suit of armor and a dead dragon(again fake is probably best).

Hope these help or at least amuse.

  3. just dress up for fun

"Disney costumes" like Robbin Hood with an arrow and bow

or  a "Vampire" that'll be cool

  4. go as a Hershey kiss

  5. There are tons:

For Christmas you could dress up as an Elf and carry a giant candy cane.

Or you could be a gift- a giant box wrapped in bright paper with a big bow on your head.  That's quite an easy one to make.

For Labor Day you could carry a big spade and wear overalls. (Although I really like the pregnant idea- cute pun)

For Easter you could get a Bunny costume, and carry a basket of eggs which you can hand out to the guests. These could make nice party favours too.

  6. well, you could look nice in a vampire costume. or for valentine's day you could wear a big heart.

  7. You could try being a christmas present, wrap up a cardboard box in christmas paper and ribbon, then cut it in half and make holes in each half for your arms and put them through and dress in the same colours as the parcel. Ha ha I never was much good at fancy dress. You could dress all in dark green and make a chamrock shaped hat for St Patricks. Good luck whatever you do.
