An investigation into pre-packaged sandwiches sold by major chains shows that some sandwiches can contain as much salt as you would find in 18 packets of crisps and more fat than a Big Mac. Will this make you think twice about buying a "healthier option" sandwiches in future?

Yes OK  , but one I make myself.   Bought ones are awful.  I will have crusty bread,  mature cheese and a beetroot  and pickles   if thats OK

My boyfriend makes my sandwiches for me in the morning so I never have to get a pre packed sandwich.  I am a lucky girl :D

yes!  i always try to make my own...or else i get a subway or go to a deli where they make it up fresh infront of you as i see whats going into it.  the cals and fat that are in premade sandwhiches are stupid!

p.s...make sure you watch the dispatches sandwhiches unwrapped documentry on channel 4 at 8pm on monday...it shows all the gross stuff that happens in sandwhich factories!  it will put you off for life!

Yea pre-packed sandwiches will have to have lots of preservatives like salt but I very rarely go for them. Local sandwich shops who make them fresh now thats a good lunch.

As my friend once told me

Not out of that machine, I'll tell ya.  Only thing on it was butter, for crying out loud.  I need mustard with my ham!

I can't even imagine what they are doing to get THAT much salt in a butty!

I went to subway for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it is so stressful, as I was herded along the queue I had to make a decision every 5 seconds over which bread , which butter, which add-ons!

And do you know what? It was rubbish... :-(
