Our daughter is aged 5, her class at School has the theme of 'Nursery rhymes' for World book day and each child has to dress up in an outfit associated with this theme. Our daughter has chosen the nursery rhyme 'Mary had a little lamb' and wants to dress as Mary. We have a great little lamb soft toy so thats sorted, but im confused as to what Mary would wear? Any ideas?

We thought maybe just a pretty sash dress and hat, do you think that would be ok?

I realise the lamb followed her to school one day, but i dont want to dress her in school uniform as shes in that everyday and it defeats the object of a fancy dress day!? Help?

  1. I agree with the sash dress and hat with a  ribbon and the lamb identifies her as Mary.

    Good luck!

  2. a pink dress and a bonnet

  3. Put a penafore or apron on top of a dress with a wide skirt and puff sleeves.  white thights and black mary jane shoes.

  4. swiss national dress of ladies

  5. When I picture Mary, I picture a white dress with a bright blue sash tied in a bow. And a white hat w/a Daisy on it. Since it's getting close to Easter, you might be able to find some good deals. You can also try Ebay. Good luck!

  6. I think the dress you have will be just fine and she can carry the lamb. You could also add a pretty hat if you can ,most shops are selling childrens pretty hats for easter and they are quite cheap. Iam sure she will look lovely.
