Former South African fast bowler Fanie de Villiers has asked Cricket South Africa (CSA) to make Hashim Amla or AB de Villiers the captain of the national team in place of Graeme Smith who resigned as captain after the World Cup 2011.

This is the reason why CSA is yet to make a decision.
Fanie said that a player who was loved by the people should be made captain and that AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla were the only two players in the team with a huge fan following.
Former pacer also believes that the Proteas are rich in talent and can emerge as a world power in cricket.
De Villiers said, "If people do not love him, you can forget about it. That's why I believe that AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla are the only two candidates (for the job). There is enough talent in this country to make South

He also criticised the national selectors for picking the wrong team for the World Cup. De Villiers believes that the selectors should have gone with atleast a few all-rounders and not just specialists.
"I said long before the time that you can't play a World Cup on the subcontinent with a bunch of specialists. We lost this World Cup not because we were bad. We lost it because we had the wrong side there," former fast bowler added.
The Proteas were defeated by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in the quarter-final of the mega event last month. South Africa has never won a knockout match in the history of World Cup cricket.
