Fanore Mac to crush the competition in John Smiths Peterborough Derby 2012 – Heat 5
The most lightly raced candidate, Fanore Mac is brimming with the highest of chances, 2 to 1, to land the John Smiths Peterborough Derby 2012 – Heat 5 on Wednesday, 25th July at Peterborough over 420 metres flat. The £100 prize money has attracted Glenadda Magic, Droopys Stig, Yah Muppet and Castlebride Dan.
Elite State’s three-year-old black and white son has raced twice during the season and it has been twice that he has gone through training sessions too.
On 28th June, 2012, the three-year-old cracked open his racing career with a win. He raced over 420 metres flat at Peterborough after breaking from the third trap. He raced towards the rails and did not delegate the lead to any among the lot and reached the other end of the wire in 25.42 seconds. He won by the margin of 9 ¼ lengths and set, Marazion Sydney, as the runner-up.
The next career attempt for the three-year-old son out of b***h, Lake Lodge, was in a 420 metres race at Peterborough on 5th July, 2012. Over the same distance and against the same rival, Marazion Sydney, Fanore Mac raced from the middle and concluded the race in 25.22 seconds. This time he won by the margin of 10 ½ lengths.
The trainer, P. Ward, thought better of it and trained the three-year-old twice. This is something that he did not even do at the beginning of the career of his under charge.
The black and white hound got drilled at Peterborough on 9th July, 2012 and then on 19th July, 2012 over the same distance, 420 metres. Fanore Mac timed the first session in 25.16 seconds and took 25.34 seconds to rest the next session.
For a straight fifth time (races and training), the three-year-old will race over the same distance and at the same venue. The trainer has secured the chances of his trainee for striking a hat-trick through the race today.
Fanore Mac is up against older and more experienced rivals today all of whom are racing right out of training sessions tonight. It will be a true test of his potential and capability to take down a field like that.
