Play back the tapes when Kurt beat Hendrick single handed in the last race of the season, with TWO cars breathing down his neck,he did not turn out to be the second coming of David Pearson. Is this like baseball where a pitcher with a 9-7 win loss gets a multi million dollar deal?

confusing quetion , but if your asking if drivers get compared to fast to legends , i dont think so , how are you suppose to compare them , with  average drivers, and its exciting comparing the present and the past. its all speculation and they will be remebered how they are. what people say now doesnt matter so much, its just fun

I guess its natural to wish to see a part of history made in you own time, that's why all the fans jump up when Jr drives to the front. I've been at Talladega when he won, God's honest truth being around that crowd you do get a real charge.

Near as I can tell, you're asking if a driver gets off to a great start to his career(ie.Kurt Busch) and gets a bunch of hype and praise, is he really worthy of it, or do people jump too quickly on assuming he's the next big thing only to find out he's not, am I right?

For the record, Kurt might not be the second coming of David Pearson, but he's hardly a slacker behind the wheel.

And second, if that's the question you're asking, then yes, sometimes I think people hype up young up and comers way too much,(ie, Joey Logano) let them prove themselves first, if they can back it up, hype away.
