Fans will hear good news regarding Indo-Pak series very soon, says Zaka Ashraf – Cricket News Update
Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397, is positive about the outcome of his recent tour of India and said that cricket fans will get good news very soon, regarding the resumption of Indo-Pak cricketing ties.
Ashraf was invited to see the final of the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which was played on Sunday between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings at Chennai.
PCB Chairman also held a meeting with the President of Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Srinivasan-c90829, and expressed that his Indian counterpart has give him positive vibes. Ashraf is hopeful that PCB and BCCI will have improved relations in
the years to come.
“We discussed many things in brief. There were a lot of pledges (made) from both sides, that we're planning something better; he didn't tell me what it was. But he said that in one or two months some concrete and positive things would come out," Ashraf said.
The relations between the two countries deteriorated after ‘Mumbai Attacks’ in 2008 and no bilateral cricket series has been played since then. Pakistani players are not allowed to take part in IPL and no domestic team from Pakistan has ever taken part in
Champions League T20, which is also organised by BCCI.
However, there are some signs of improvement as the BCCI made it clear earlier this month that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sialkot-c842 Stallions, the domestic T20 champion of Pakistan, will play in this year’s Champions League.
Fixtures between India and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 are by far the most awaited competition in the world of cricket and the bilateral series’ are equally profitable for both the boards as well.
Ashraf, who had slammed BCCI’s behaviour in past, expressed that there is an evident change in India’s attitude, which is a sign of good things to come.
Chairman PCB added, “I feel that if what he says and what he plans is implemented the bilateral series will really be revived. I am quite hopeful. My feeling is that the thinking is changing; the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gareth-Berg-c1457 is melting. I think there could be breaking news in, maybe,
one or two months."
