Fans will witness a skinny Serena Williams in January 2012 – Tennis News
Serena Williams has never disappointed the crowd with her unique fashion sense and has remained in the limelight for her clothing and attire all her professional career. She has not hit the courts for most of the later part of
this year due to autoimmune disease but made her return in an exhibition match against her elder sister Venus in Colombia, last month.
Doctors prescribed her to change her diet and astonishingly she has responded to her diet plan in a positive manner. She has decided to take salad first and eat the steak afterwards, previously she did it otherwise. Discussing
about his diet plan at a sports conference, Williams said, “I changed my diet completely, so lots of vegetables. I altered my mind set completely because I was the person who always ate their steak first and their salad second.”
This means that Serena’s fans will see a new slim and smart Serena in action at Barbados in January next year where she plans to kick-off her season. There was a lot of hype being created over her excuse but doctors report clearly
stated that she was had some medical issues and was unable to return to courts in that condition.
Her official last performance in any tournament was in the final of US Open against Samantha Stosur. She lost that match and was denied of her 14th Grand Slam title and that was the pre-mature ending to her 2011 season
as well. Initially she didn’t tell the exact reason for her non-participation in the tournament and just stated that she had some medical issues.
Now it is crystal clear that she was suffering with some medical problems and there was one other reason for her abstention from playing tournaments after US Open and that was that her sister was severely suffering from Sjogren’s
syndrome, chronic disease where white blood cells attack moisture-producing glands and can cause dysfunction of organs and body systems.
Venus has been struggling from this disease for quiet a time now and she didn’t took part in any tournament as well since her last participation in US Open in August. It has been a very tough time for Williams as the aging factor
has also crept into their game play and they are struggling from medical problems. It has been a long wait for their fans to see them in action and they have promised that they will return to arena in January.
