  1. depends on whether you need more pitching or more hitting...that is always a determining factor in a trade...if you needed both i would want Howard, but it depends on what your team needs

  2. Nolasco is available in your league full of fantasy guru's?  Are you aware of the fact that according to yahoo player rankings, Nolasco was the top starting pitcher over the past month.  Plain and simple, Howard is the better player.  He possesses a lot more value and if you wanted to deal him for Nolasco, you would definitely need to get another player in that deal, because if not then he'd be robbing you.  In fantasy you can't solely go on performance for trades, value is a big part of it.  You wouldn't trade Cliff Lee for Johan Santana just because Lee is the best in the  league.

  3. ryan howard

    homerun machine

    strikeout alot but still howard

  4. You HAVE to keep Ryan Howard in this situation.

I'm in a league full of fantasy guru's and I believe Ricky Nolasco is in free agency. He's a decent pitcher, but I mean come on Howard had a huge second half last season. His power numbers are still there as he has 20+ home runs. Don't worry about his batting average, my guess is he'll raise it to at least .250 by the end of the season.

Look for a pitcher in free agency. Kevin Slowey, Hiroki Kuroda, Scott Olsen are all solid pitchers that will get you similiar numbers.

If you were to trade Howard you could probably end up getting somoene like Roy Halladay or a C.C. Sabathia type guy depending on if they need starting pitching. Howard is an RBI machine.

So to answer your question I would rather have Ryan Howard in this situation 100% of the time.

  5. At first glance its a no brainer... but Ryan Howard isn't the MVP he was that rookie year he had.  I have definitely heard good things of Ricky Nolasco over the last few seasons and he is now starting to break through a little bit.

This all depends on what you need.  If you have 2 legitimate 1B and need SP, then you might want to think about it.  Ryan Howard will hit atleast 35-40 homers and a ton of RBIs even in a bad year.  Where he hurts you is average and strikeouts.

I would try and see if I could get a little more with Nolasco if your okay with moving Howard.
