Fantasy Football Draft.....?

I did my first draft yesterday with a league I joined at work. There are 16 teams and each team has 19 roster spots. 3 QB, 5 RB, 5 WR, 2 TE, 2 K and 2 team Defenses...Each week we start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K and 1 defense...Over 300 players were selected in a 6 hour long draft. We randomly picked at the beginning of each round so it would be far. Please tell me your opinion on how I drafted and keep in mind how deep the league is and number of players and roster spots we had to fill. It was hard after a few rounds because we were picking backups. It will be a balanced and competitive league.

  1. I don't like Larry Johnson. Try to trade him as soon as possible. You might be able to package him and Jerricho Cotchery now that a lot of buzz is focused on the Jets with Brett Favre.

I think your other WRs are good and you can afford to trade Cotchery.

Drew Brees is a good QB. You need a backup but you can't have everything.

Unless you have to carry two defenses and two kickers, I'd dump these guys and look for another QB and/or RB backup.

  2. QBs- Brees COULD be the number 1 qb this year.  He has a solid receiving core in colston and henderson.  Shockey will open up the field, along with reggie bush haveing Duece back at RB.  Flacco might play, but wont be much of a treat.  Warner and Leinart are going to be fighting for the starting QB job.

RBs- LJ is either hit or miss.  I'm not too high on him.  Selvin young really isnt a starting RB, but Denver RBs always play well. Dwilliams is going to be splitting time with his backups, and jonathen stewart.  Ray rice might get limited time playing.

WR- The best part of your team.  I had brees/colston last year on my team, and it was awesome!  nice job.  Also, TJ is top 10 WRs and Dwayne Bowe will have a breakout season.  Jotchery usually does well, especially if the jets get Favre.

TE- Daniels is solid along with your backup.  Both can start if needed.

K- Arent that important, but I like Brown.

    D- Bucs are decent.

Improvements: I would suggest you look for another running back. Otherwise, very strong team.  Good Luck!
