I'm in a PPR league with the #6 pick. What do you think would be my best option.

Oh yeah, and I don't want Brady there.

  1. get the best QB or RB there

    drafts are always unpredictable

  2. If we can assume that the top 5 picks are all RB (LT, Peterson, Jackson,Westbrook and Addai) then I would be inclined if you pass on Brady to draft Gore. Martz will turn him into the next Westbrook....look no further than what he accomplished with Jackson before moving on to the Lions. Had Jones stayed healthy Martz would have gotten similar production from him, look at what numbers he did post when he actually did end up on the field. You might want to consider picking Brady anyways and use him to trade into something better down the road. I also happen to believe that Larry Johnson isnt finished being an elite back and before he got injured last season he was off to a huge start....and the Chiefs have improved their line so that is another option (although a bit of a reach at #6). Maybe you get Brady and try to coax a guy picking lower after they get Gore or Johnson to pick the QB of your liking and swap Brady and a later pick for those 2. Obviously that is a gamble and you have to wait until the last second to persuade them to keep another team from picking your guy but this might be the best way to get value from the 6th pick. Might even try to work out with one of the guys below you a swap of picks where you pick Brady and then agree to swap 2nd and 4th round slots. This would require someone to agree at the time of your pick to this type deal and you will have to post your picks for each other at the time of each choice but I've seen it pulled off before.

  3. 6 is tricky, but could still get you a feature back if someone takes Brady ahead of you.

Typically Addai and Steven Jackson are in that neighborhood.

Marion Barber III will be there, but the Felix Jones factor troubles me.

Cross you fingers and hope for Jackson to slide, assuming LT, Westbrook and Peterson are off the board as expected.

Jackson should rebound nicely, and the Rams' O-line is healthy again, as is Bulger.

Frank Gore should benefit from Mike Martz' influence, but he's an injury risk.

Moss caught 98 balls, but you have to think the Pats will have a more balanced attack after the Super Bowl.

  4. In a PPR league, if Frank Gore is still available (which is estimated as a #6 pick), get him!  He is a pass catching RB that is said to be utilized the same as Marshall Faulk was when he played.  New OC Mike Martz was the head coach of the Rams when Faulk played.  Expect Frank Gore to put up sick #s in both running and recieving.  Forget about the Niners offense last year.  OC Hostler was the biggest bust in OC history.  He was the major factor for the worst Niner offense.  Keep your focus on Gore if you have the # 6 pick.

I have been playing FFB for years now and always rank in the top 3 of a 14 team PPR/IDP league.  If I had the # 6 pick, that is who I would be looking for.  My answer has nothing to do with me being a Niner fan.

Thumbs up to those who agree.

  5. Marion Barber

  6. The best RB out there. They pickup more points.

  7. My rankings would be:

    4. Joseph Addai

    5. Tom Brady (who you don't want)

    6. Randy Moss

    7. Marion Barber

    8. Frank Gore

I think any of those would be a good pick.  Probably Moss in a PPR league will end up doing you the most good.

  8. I am in a ppr league also. If I was you I take J.Addai or the next best RB.  Round #2 & #3 take the best WR availible, round #4 & #5 take QB and TE. You can always find other running back to share the load in the later rounds I like DeAngelo Williams, Chester Taylor, Justin Fargas, Kevin Jones to name a few.

    Good luck
