Question:

Fantasy Football Trade Help - 20 team league?

It is a 20 team league with rushing/rec yards at 1pt for 10 yards and TDs worth 6 pts.

My roster

QBs Rivers, Croyle, Farve

RBs S.Jackson, R.Mendenhall, Ray Rice

WRs Chad Johnson, Boldin, N.Burelson, J.Hardy

TE Cooley

I have been offered Brandon Jacobs and D.Bowe for Chad Johnson and R.Mendenhall.

I know this is a 20 team league so things are thin for everyone. We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE.

CJ can be a beast but he shares passes with Housh. Jacobs could be a great back but I am not 100% sure he won't be a RBBC situation...but Mendenhall isn't a starter either. I expect Mendenhall to get several TDs but I also can't see Parker only having two TDs this year again.

So...HELP. Do I do this trade?

  1. Keep your players.  Brandon Jacobs runs upright and because of that is more injury prone; he will also split carries with Bradshaw/Ward.  Mendenhall will get the goal line carries in Pittsburgh.  Rumor is that the Ravens LOVE Ray Rice, and he may end up winning the starting position in Baltimore this year.  McGahee is inconsistent, injury prone, and disappointing to own in Fantasy Leagues.  Chad Johnson is on a better team and has a better QB.

  2. Yes you do this trade because although you give up Ocho Cinco you have Boldin (just as good as Fitz) and Bureleson. You also have Hardy whom the Bills are starting to love more and more after each play. But the main reason you make the trade is because of Jacobs, You have Jackson and then after that virtually no one. Mendenhall I think will not do much of anything this year and Ray Rice is the same way. You get Jacobs and although maybe a RBBC Bradshaw is on a VERY short leash at this moment in time with the law trouble he has been getting in. It is very possible that Jacobs could be the soul RB in NY very early. He could be an extremely valuable addition to your team.

  3. in the end it's your decision, and I've never played in a 20 team league before

In my opinion that trade doesnt look too bad, but it all depends what you think mendenhall will be able to do. I think parker will see a good amount of carries and mendenhall won't get as many touches early on, I'd be scared of parker stealing the TD's from mendenhall

    some quick 2007 stats:

    Bowe - 995 yards and 5 TDs

    Chad - 1,440 yards and 8 TDs

    Jacobs - 1,009 yards and 4 TDs

Bowe is now the chiefs #1 reciever

Jacobs is the starting RB and will get the goaline carries so expect his TD's to go up

Chad should still have good numbers and take your own guess for mendenhall

In my mind if you do the trade you end up with more fantasy points among your starters
