Fantasy Premier League: Team of Gameweek 3 – Edin Dzeko, Wayne Rooney– Part 4
After looking at the best goalkeeper, defenders and midfielders of Gameweek 3, with the usual suspects Frank Lampard of Chelsea and Ashley Young of Manchester United in attendance, as well as a few surprises, such as Ryan Shotton of Stoke City, it is now
time to move on to strikers.
However, before doing so it would be unfair to leave out a certain midfielder who finished level on points with fellow Liverpool team-mate, Charlie Adam in the points earned count, i.e.
Jordan Henderson.
Scoring his first goal for his new club in classy fashion, Henderson not only got his name in the Liverpool history books, but also managed to reward the managers who opted to pick him with 5 points.
Keeping a clean sheet during the time he was on the field, Henderson also managed to the one point and a 4 point Bonus for being one of the stars of the match.
All in all the Reds midfielder earned an impressive 11 points in the Gameweek and announced himself as a prospect for fantasy managers to keep an eye on.
Next up, we move on to strikers and what a week it was for two of them in particular. Keeping the English flavour, we begin with the star of one of Hollywood’s most successful film series, Shrek, or as they call him in England,
Wayne Rooney.
It was a bad week for Arsenal in the Premier League after the Gunners conceded eight goals against the Red Devils and three of those goals were scored by Rooney. Two of which were from very well taken free kicks.
So, with four points for each goal, that is a total of 12 points. He did not stop there though as he also set up two other goals, so another six points for the assists meant that he had 18 points before the bonus points and extras were added in.
Earning two points for spending more than 60 minutes on the pitch and another 2 Bonus points for his performance and Wayne Rooney’s tally of 22 points earned him the top spot in the strikers department. Only Ashley Young managed more points than him this
previous Gameweek.
However, managers who wish to add him to their side now should take note of the fact that the performance saw his transfer value rise and the Manchester United front man is now worth 12.1-million.
Moving from the Red half of Manchester to its cash rich and superstar heavy, Blue half, as we take a look at the performance of Manchester City striker,
Edin Dzeko, who tormented Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend.
Cheaper than Wayne Rooney in transfer value, Dzeko paid more dividends for his price as managed to accumulate 21 points this past Gameweek.
His devastating tally of 4 goals not only meant a convincing victory over the weekend and a right to showboat, but also a rather high return of 16 points.
Three more bonus points and 2 points for staying on the pitch later and Dzeko ended up over the 20 point mark and put a smile on 22.2% of managers who had picked him.
