Fantasy Question for fun - Would you attend?

This is just for fun...

There are some "neat," interesting and articulate people here...

If you had the opportunity to attend an ALL EXPENSES PAID conference for the regular contributors (and their families) to the homeschool section of Y!A, would you?

Where (anywhere in the world) would you like for it to be held?

After a bit of conversation and interaction, do you think you could match up real people with their "online personalities?"

Would you want some anti-homeschoolers invited to mix things up a bit? :-0

We would attend.

We have been home schooling for a while, and have always been enriched by the interaction, knowledge, and experience of other home school families.

There are home school family camps held all over the country several times a year.

Some are pretty structured, others are not.

Not that I have a need to prove them wrong, but as Glurpy stated some of the detractors would make a great addition so they could see for themselves how wrong they are about the families, and especially the young people.

Where to hold it?

Somewhere relaxing, a Dude Ranch in the mountains perhaps...

I would LOVE something like that! I would absolutely attend.

No, I would NOT want the "anit's" to come.....they are generally quite negative and condescending here, and I do not think they deserve a place at a homeschool conference-the only benefit that could come from them attending would be BLOWING THEIR MINDS at seeing how intelligent and yes, well socialized our kids are!

I'm in housework mode right now and not very articulate...but here goes:

Yes I would attend.  I would have to persuade my husband and son to attend because we have attended a face to face meeting with a chat group before and it was....ummm...interesting but not something we would want to do again.  All expense paid would be incentive for us to attend even after the bad experience with the previous meeting.

North or South Carolina Beach would be convenient for us.  Even with all expenses paid, we need a place that is near to home.   I don't think all expenses paid would include lost time at work or feeding the critters.

Thinking about the anti-homeschoolers... My opinion is that face to face they would not be so...vocal.  I would hope they would have better manners in person and not so closed-minded.  

Would we know each other? I would know you anywhere.  You look like George Washington's face on Mt. Rushmore. (lol)

Oh my goodness..what a slap at my homeschooling abilities... by golly, that's Ben Franklin!  I took time to zoom in on picture.  Well, at least I knew it was one of those old presidents....(a little public school humour there.. I KNOW he was never president)

I like the dude ranch idea. Boy, how many of us would turn that into a really cool teaching experience!?

I am not sure I would be able to tell who was who though. I would try and get everyone to say the word ABOUT.  Would that help narrow it down a little?
