1st pick - Tom Brady

2nd pick- Ladanian Tolminson

3rd pick - Adrian Peterson

4th pick- Peyton Manning

5th pick- my pick, Brian Westbrook or Tony Romo??

Im in a money league where i pick 5th place. My number 1 pick most important to me and i am torn between these players. My league allows passing td's 6 pts as well as receiving and running. So basically i know Tony Romo will get me much more Td's then Westbrook. Romo easily could have 30 td's and throw for over 3,800 yards this year my predictions. He is averaged to get 349 fantasy pts according to yahoo. That is 2nd to Tom Brady. Westbrook on the other hand is predicted to get 276 fantasy pts. Last year Romo had 35 more pts then Peyton Manning. So i mean i know espn ranks Romo like 24th but i know if i pass on him he wont be there 2nd round. People are jumping on Qb's quick and dont wanna get stuck with Big Ben or Derek Anderson mid 2nd round that i just to high. I have a slight chance to get Westbrook then Brees???

  1. In a league where passing td's score six points you have to take romo because the point differential becomes a much bigger factor

I like taking a rb first round usually but you have to draft according to what scores the most in your league.  and in that league a top end qb is a huge commodity.

Go with romo and get clinton portis in the next round.  He is gonna have a big year I think and they say he has had the best offseason that he has had in years.  romo and portis helps you a lot more than westbrook and anderson or big ben

  2. Take westbrook, especially if it's a points per reception league. Big Ben also threw for 30+ td's last year, if im not mistaken. So the combo of Westbrook in the first round and Big Ben in the second, or take a chance and wait til the third round, is not a bad combo.

  3. Out of the 2 I would definitly say Westbrook but there is no way you can count out Steven Jackson! He is just as good if not better than Westbrook. I like Jackson's speed more than Westbrook as well which makes me give a slight edge over Westbrook. I say Westbrook though out of him and Romo because I am just personally insanely high on Marc Bulger this year and he is a proven player who just had a decimated O-Line last season. If his line stays healthy he is a top 5 QB hands down! Go with Westbrook if you must but again consider Jackson at that spot.

  4. You definitely have to take the running back in the first round. I remember the days when people said it was taboo to draft QB's round 1. Now people are taking Brady, Manning, and Romo there?

Always build your team around a running back because they consitently get you big points. Especially a guy like Westbrook, even if he doesn't get a TD, he'll have 150 total yards or more.

The dropoff from Romo to Brees isn't that bad. I mean if you look at what Brees did after the bad start, he was amazing.

I would say if you end up with Westbrook and Brees, your offense is set. Even if you end up with Palmer, I think now, if healthy, he will be the guy he was a few years back. Plus he gets to throw to Ocho Cinco and Mr. Houshmandzadeh.

  5. It's all about value.  If you take a QB in the first round you are not getting good value.  Let the people take QBs early and laugh all the way to the bank when you get studs at all of the other positions and still get a top 10 QB.

I just did a yahoo draft last night with the same point scale.  Tony Romo went in the 3rd round and Big Ben didn't go until the 5th.

Always control the draft, don't let it control you.  This year I strongly recommend waiting on QBs until the 8th round or later.  You should be able to get a guy like Eli Manning, Jay Cutler, or Philip Rivers.  Meanwhile, the rest of your roster is studly while their #1 RB is Brandon Jacobs.

  6. Westbrook for sure.

The man is a RB who plays like a WR as well.

  7. Take Westbrook first and take Big Ben at QB with your next pick.

  8. Westbrook

  9. take westbrook now for sure...you can easily get someone with romo-like numbers in the 3rd or 4th round...i would go for drew brees later on

  10. Westbrook.  That's a no-brainer.  Really, you think Manning is going 4th?  That's a strange league.  In my mind Romo is a 4th or 5th round QB, although I guess he will probably go in the 3rd in a lot of leagues.  But 5th pick?  No way.
