Fantasy football question - Am i screwed?

Ok, that said, we don't draft until the week before the season begins, but we keep 2 players from last year and lose the point where they're drafted. I had a banged up team last year. Brown and parker (my first two picks) werent' worth picking because of the injurys/impending replacements.

The guys in front of me, 4 running backs who aren't already kept are going. probably parker and brown will be there, but they don't have much appeal to me (and im a dolphins fan!)

Do i take a longshot in the 2nd round, with stewart and mcfadden in the 1st and second? i think both of them have better shots at producing than brown/parker does. and i'll probably try and get mendenhall or williams late to eff someone else's keeper over/

btw-keepers are d-anderson (last pick) and wes welker(2nd to last pick)

those were the smart keepers, but RB is still lacking

gosh.. help please!

  1. First off, like one user said, Willie Parker is still the starter in Pittsburgh.  I know he was banged up last year, and Mendenhall is supposed to be all world, but I can not see why you would want to give up Parker for a round 2 pick.  Sure, you could use the 2nd round pick on someone like Stewart, but there is no guarantee that either he or McFadden will be on the board when you have to select.  I would definitely keep Welker for the spot you selected him in (great draft pick by the way), but I think Anderson is severely overhyped this year.  It is not worth letting go of high producing RB like Brown or Parker just to keep Anderson.  A few reasons:

    1)  Research Anderson's 2nd half numbers once NFL teams had some tape on him.  He got worse as the season progressed.

    2)  Look at his preseason performance.  The Giants D made him look like a backup QB.

    3)  Just like Mendenhall is lurking in the shadows to pick up PT in Pitt, the same can be said of Brady Quinn in CLE.  Don't forget that.

Call me old fashioned, but I say dump Anderson in favor of either Parker (1st choice) or Brown.  Whoever you keep, make sure you draft their backup.

    That is my $0.02.

  2. Get Mcfadden, stewart and Hightower.

  3. Parker has not been replaced lol. He's still the starter, he'll still get his touches and shots at TD's. All the Steelers have done is brought in a bruiser to compliment him. Yes, of course Mendenhall with cut into Willie's production a bit, but he is not replacing him.

That said I don't know what RB's are available in your league so if you think that D-Mac is the best option then go for it. Stewart is still banged up and DeAngelo Williams has looked good so far in preseason. So that will hold Stewart at bay for a while.

My only advice without knowing who exactly is available is to trust your gut and try to get the best value that you can with your top picks. Good luck!

  4. You are probably screwed, but take McFadden for sure.. He is bound to put up some amazing numbers this season in atleast a few games, if not more.

  5. Brown is a gamble but willie parker would just be a stupid move. Parker got replaced.
