I own cj. should I seek a higher tier RB or do u think this is even. my league is ppr and i feel like portis will have more catches this season with the new west coast offense. and I'm in a real need of a RB.. cj can be explosive but inconsistent and I don't want to throw out an unreasonable trade ya know? –thanks

  1. Lol well this to me is unreasonable.

Johnson doesn't have the glamour he had in past years. Some don't even consider him the bonafide #1 WR he used to be.

I think you need to package in someone like maybe a Jonathan Stewart or something to get this done.

  2. You can get a good running back for Ocho Cinco. Go get Maurice Jones Drew or Marion Barber. And if you really want someone good just wait till the season and wait for injury's to happen then you will have whatever you want cause they need your pick. So just hold on to him especially if he starts doing good. Because he always does good early in the season then falls off. He isn't clutch, TJ is. Besides you can always find a running back via free agency. Look at those rookies. Check out Ryan Torain because he is with the Broncos and they produce backs. Felix Jones, Kevin Smith, Jamaal Charles, Steve Slaton and even guys who will split time like Jerious Norwood, Earnest Graham, Deshawn Foster.

  3. I'd make that trade in a heartbeat.  Ocho Cinco is very deceptive in his production.  He always ends up with a lot of yards, but he often gets a large percentage of those yards in just a couple of games and he doesn't get nearly as many tds as you would expect- not to mention that he gets half of his tds every year in just a couple of games.  It happens every year.  Last year  he got a third of his yards and 7 of his 8 tds in just 3 games and the year before that he got 500 yards and 5 tds in just two games.  Sure, it's great when he has those weeks, but you have to start him EVERY WEEK and if he gets all his tds in three weeks that means he gets none the other 13.  Portis will be much more consistent.

  4. Chad Johnson is a huge question mark this year.  I doubt anyone would pick him up in a draft.  Not too many owners are going to want a trade that involves him.  Your best bet is to drop him and go with another receiver.  However, if you want to trade him, see how he performs during the first three games of the year.  His stock is either going to rise or severely plummet.  I know you need a running back but worst case scenario you drop Johnson in favor of a solid back.  If you want to trade Johnson for a running back, choose a solid player that is not in the starting lineup.  That will be deemed by most reasonable owners as a decent trade.
