Fantasy trade Phillips Harden and Sheets for Chipper and Manny?

I would give Phillips Harden and Sheets and get Chipper and Manny.

This would leave me with Polanco at 2B and a rotation of:

Lackey

Pettitte

Verlander

Harang

(and Joba i guess)

I'm leaning towards saying no because it will pretty much cripple my pitching, but the thought of chipper and manny is teasing me.

  1. I say no becuase sheets and harden are a couple of the top two pitchers in the whole league.  There is no way jones can keep up his numbers and he has to slump sometime soon.  Many is real good but you could get an out fielder like Nick Markakis for a lot less and still get big numbers.

  2. I think this is a good trade for you.  Yes, Chipper's batting over .400 right now and Manny will give you HRs and RBIs, but Polanco's just as good at 2B as Phillips is, and you don't fall too far off with losing Harden and Sheets because while they're both outstanding pitchers, they have a tendency to be injured quite often.

Keep an eye on Joba, he'll turn it around soon.  Check your waiver wire for any pick-ups.  You never know what you'll find there.

  3. I guess it would depend on how your outfield and 3rd base situation is. Phillips hasn't been his normal self this year. He's still been good, but not living up to a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Sheets and Harden are big injury risks. Every pitch can be their last of the year. Chipper is also an injury risk, but a risk thats hitting well over .400 for the season. He will miss games here and there for nagging injuries. Manny is just a beast. If you can find some serviceable pitching on waivers and can use the offensive help I would defenitley make this trade. Try to pick up a Jesse Litsch, Manny Parra, Jorge Campillo, Derek Lowe, or Johnny Cueto to help fill the void in your rotation.

  4. sheets and harden are too good and Phillips gives ya RBIs and homers so i say no

  5. Moving Harden is a must because it is just a matter of time before he gets hurt again, but I would try to re work the deal Chipper is also prone to injury and Manny is very streaky so they both have question marks and you do not want to take two of them in one  deal while giving up one of the best 2nd basemen.
